Composition of the Certification Board (Committee)

1. The past president of the North Carolina Property Mappers Association shall appoint a member to fill any vacancy that may exist on the seven member certification board which includes the immediate past-president of the association. In making appointments to the initial board, the president shall appoint two members to one-year terms, two members to two-year terms, and two members to three-year terms. After 1987, all persons appointed to the Board must be either certified mappers or Senior Mappers. If possible, the president should maintain a balance on the board of four certified Senior Mappers and two Mappers. A year shall run from the annual meeting of the N.C.P.M.A. The president shall fill vacancies that arise more than 60 days before the annual meeting of the N.C.P.M.A.
2. No person may serve more than two consecutive terms on the board.
3. The board shall annually elect a chairman, vice-chairman and secretary-treasurer. The secretary-treasurer shall be custodian to all funds paid to the board and may disburse those funds only upon authorization by the chairman.
4. The board shall administer the certification program according to those certification requirements and shall review and pass on all applications for certification. The Board shall determine what schools and conferences may be counted toward certification requirements and shall prepare and administer all examinations for certification.
